Here's a straight comparison, including what SpicyChat does better, so you can decide which one fits.
Why people look for a SpicyChat alternative
SpicyChat raised its prices on September 8, 2026, and the features many people want most are spread across three tiers: ad-free chat on Get A Taste, in-chat images and longer replies on True Supporter, and text-to-speech on I'm All In. Its iPhone app is also gone, after it was removed from the App Store in 2025.
Others simply want a different kind of character: fewer, better-written companions with a portrait, a backstory and a scenario, instead of scrolling a library of thousands.
What SpicyChat does better
It's a big, mature product, and it shows:
- An enormous community library, covering almost any character or fandom.
- Group chats, lorebooks and a director mode for steering scenes.
- A choice of more than 10 AI models, and long context windows on the top tier.
- A cheaper entry plan ($5.95 a month) if all you want is ad-free text chat.
