Why people look for a Chai AI alternative
Mostly the filter. Chai is an 18+ app, and its terms say roleplay can include mature themes, but its Safety Center says its models and safety systems are designed to refuse sexually explicit content. Its terms also ban sexually explicit images and videos of any kind. If you want spicy roleplay that goes where you take it, that's a wall.
Then there's the app itself. The free version shows ads, Pieces are sold on top of the Premium and Ultra subscriptions, and its Safety Center says some regions need a paid subscription to use it at all. It's also app-only for now: Chai's website lists a web version as coming soon.
