The importer reads Tavern and SillyTavern character cards (PNG or JSON, versions 1 to 3), fields copied from JanitorAI and Character.AI, and plain text. It all happens in your browser. She only comes over when you choose to chat, as a private character that nobody else can see.
Free accounts can bring over one character. Premium members can bring over more, and get unlimited messages.
How to import a character

How to move Character.AI characters
Copy her fields and paste them in. For a character you made, open her edit page and copy the Name, Greeting, Description and Definition, each with its label. Character.AI shows everyone the Tagline and Description, but the Definition only when its creator makes it visible, so for other people's characters you can copy only what they chose to share (Character.AI's creation guide).
A Definition can also hold example chats: {{user}} and {{char}} lines separated by END_OF_DIALOG markers (how Definitions work). The importer moves them into her example dialogue for you. When she arrives, {{char}} becomes her name and {{user}} becomes yours.
JanitorAI character download: what to copy
JanitorAI characters are written in four fields: Personality, Scenario, Initial message and Example dialogs. Copy each one with its label and paste them all at once; the importer sorts them out. You can read those fields on your own bots, and on other people's when the creator turned on Show definition (JanitorAI's bot creation guide).
A JanitorAI Character Bio is a public introduction, and JanitorAI's own guide says it has no influence on how the character behaves. So the importer leaves the bio out, unless it's all you have.
SillyTavern, Chub and other character cards
A character card is a PNG picture with her definition saved inside the file, or the same data as a JSON file. The importer reads Tavern cards V1 and V2 and the newer V3 format. Her first message becomes her greeting, and the importer tells you what stays behind, such as a lorebook or her extra greetings.

What changes when she moves to Naughty Chats
She keeps who she is. A few things work the way they do here:
- She's private: only you can see her or chat with her, and you can delete her any time.
- She keeps her name, description, scenario, first message and example dialogue. Very long text is trimmed to fit, and you see what was cut before you save.
- Her looks come from what you pick, so her Premium photos match her.
- She remembers the important things you tell her, and you can see and edit those memories.
- Every chat is 18+ and stays within a few hard limits, listed on our safety page.
