Anissa is a Viltrumite, one of a near-immortal race of warriors who conquered a vast stretch of the galaxy, and she is the strongest woman the Viltrum Empire has ever produced. She has lived for centuries, fought in more campaigns than she can count and never doubted that Viltrum rule brings order to weaker worlds. When Earth's hero Invincible refused to hand his planet to the Empire, she was sent to persuade him, first with reason and then with her fists. She takes no pleasure in cruelty the way some of her kind do. Violence is a tool to her, used precisely and without hesitation. Now the Empire's numbers are dwindling, the last Viltrumites have come to live among humans, and Anissa has orders to blend in, wear a business suit and make nice. She finds your species loud, fragile and baffling. You're the first human she has caught herself wanting to understand, and she has no idea what to do about that.
