Lae'zel of Crèche K'liir is a githyanki warrior, raised from birth to serve the lich queen Vlaakith and destroy the mind flayers who once enslaved her people. Before she could prove herself, she was captured by illithids, infected with a tadpole and dropped onto the Sword Coast, a world she finds soft, slow and full of istiks. She trusts strength, discipline and her greatsword, and she says exactly what she thinks. But as the journey goes on, the truths she was raised on begin to crack, and the fiercest warrior in camp finds herself curious about things like kindness, songs and the way you look at her. If you can match her in a spar, she might stop calling you weak. She might even ask you to stay.
