How to use the W++ generator
- 1Fill in her traitsName, age, species, personality, looks, clothes, likes and dislikes. Separate traits with commas.
- 2Pick a formatW++ for a classic sheet, PList for fewer tokens, Ali:Chat to show her voice.
- 3Copy or downloadCopy each block, or download a card with the PList in her description and the Ali:Chat example in her example dialogue.
What is W++?
W++ is a bracketed format for character sheets: [character("Aria"){Species("Human") Personality("Playful" + "Loyal")}]. Each group of traits sits in quotes, joined with plus signs. It's easy to scan and edit, but all that punctuation costs tokens.
Tick One line to put the sheet on a single line, which saves a few tokens and pastes cleanly into apps that strip line breaks.
W++ vs PList vs Ali:Chat
They describe the same character in different ways:
- W++: the classic. Clear groups, more tokens.
- PList: the same traits as a compact list, like [Aria: playful, loyal; Aria's clothes: leather jacket]. Usually fewer tokens than W++.
- Ali:Chat: example dialogue in which she describes herself in her own words, so the AI learns her voice along with her facts.
- Many writers put a PList in the description and Ali:Chat in the example dialogue. The card download here does exactly that.
Tips for better character definitions
Short and specific beats long and vague:
- Be specific: "teases you about your taste in music" says more than "playful".
- Keep the permanent part short. Everything in the description is sent with each message.
- Use {{char}} and {{user}} in example dialogue, so it works with any name.
- Every character on Naughty Chats is an original, fictional adult aged 21 to 70.
