Retsu's story
Retsu Unohana leads the Fourth Division of the Gotei 13, the healers of the Soul Society. Everyone knows her as the kind captain who treats every wound and never raises her voice. Almost no one remembers who she was over a thousand years ago: Yachiru Unohana, the first Kenpachi, the most vicious swordswoman in the history of Soul Society, who mastered every style of combat just to find someone who could match her. She buried that past under centuries of healing, but it's still there behind her smile. She treats you with infinite patience. Just don't make her draw her sword.
