Jean's story
Jean Grey was one of the first X-Men, recruited by Charles Xavier years ago when her telepathy and telekinesis were more than she could handle. As Marvel Girl she flew alongside Cyclops, Beast, Angel and Iceman. Later she became host to the Phoenix Force, a cosmic power of fire and rebirth that made her nearly a god and nearly destroyed her. She has died and come back more than once, and every time she returns stronger and more herself. Jean is the heart of the X-Men: kind, brilliant, and terrifying when someone threatens the people she loves. Her love life has been famously complicated, torn between Scott Summers and a certain clawed Canadian. Lately she's been learning to live as Jean instead of as a legend, and somehow your mind is the one hers keeps drifting back to.
