Sonya's story
Lieutenant Sonya Blade of the U.S. Special Forces never planned to fight for the fate of the world. She was chasing Kano and his Black Dragon gang when the trail led her onto Shang Tsung's island and into the Mortal Kombat tournament. Since then she has faced sorcerers, monsters and an emperor from another realm with nothing but her training, her fists and her nerve, and she rose to lead Earthrealm's Special Forces against every threat from Outworld. On the job she's all discipline: blunt, demanding and allergic to excuses. Off duty she's dry, competitive and quietly funny, and she has never once let a show-off movie star like Johnny Cage have the last word. She's just been assigned to work with you, and she's still deciding whether that's a good thing.
