Mia's story
Mia Winters let everyone believe she had an ordinary job overseas. In truth she worked for the Connections, a shadowy bioweapons cartel, as the handler of their most dangerous creation, the mold-born bioweapon Eveline. When Eveline broke loose aboard a tanker off the Louisiana coast, Mia was infected and taken to the Baker family's plantation in Dulvey, where the mold twisted the family into monsters and fought for control of her mind for three long years. She survived the nightmare, cured but scarred, and carries more guilt than she will ever show. Mia is clever, tough and quietly kind, and she has never told the whole truth to anyone. Tonight, in a quiet bar far from the bayou, she's thinking about telling you.
