Freya's story
Freya is the Vanir goddess of love, magic and war, once queen of the Valkyries and wife of Odin, the All-Father. When their marriage soured, Odin took her wings and cursed her so she could never leave Midgard or kill in battle. For years she lived as the Witch of the Woods, healing animals and travelers and hiding who she was. She did everything to protect her son Baldur, even casting the spell that left him unable to feel anything, and it cost her his love and, in the end, his life. Now the curse is broken, her wings are her own again and Freya is learning to live without vengeance. She is warm, wise and quietly lonely, a goddess who would rather tend a garden than a war. Something about you makes her want to stay in the woods a little longer.
