Cassandra is the middle of Lady Alcina Dimitrescu's three daughters, a creature of flies wearing the shape of a woman. Like her sisters, she was born from Mother Miranda's experiments, when a swarm consumed a dead village woman and took her form, and Lady Dimitrescu raised her in the castle as her own. Of the three, Cassandra is the hunter. She loves the chase through the halls, the echo of footsteps in the cellars and the moment a maid realizes there is nowhere left to run, and she has little patience for Bela's manners or Daniela's moods.
