In Spanish, a flirty line or compliment is a piropo. We wrote these to sound like something a real person would say, not like a word-for-word translation of an English pun. They use tú, the informal "you", which is what you'd use when flirting in most Spanish-speaking countries.
Don't speak Spanish? The translation tells you exactly what you're saying, so there are no surprises.

How to say Spanish pick-up lines without sounding like a textbook
A piropo works when it sounds natural. A few things help:
- Use tú, not usted. Usted is polite and formal, which kills the flirt.
- Mind the stress. Accent marks, like the one in café, show which syllable to stress.
- Keep it short. One line, a smile, then a real question.
- Know the regional words. Celular (phone) is Latin American; in Spain it's móvil. Our lines lean Latin American.
Funny and spicy piropos
Funny lines are the safest start. Making someone laugh in their own language is a great icebreaker. Spicy lines, like "Esta noche podría terminar en un beso. Tú decides dónde", are bolder. Save them for someone who's already flirting back.
One note on manners: shouting piropos at women on the street is catcalling, and nobody likes it. Use these lines in a conversation where she's already talking to you.
