Every name is built from sounds that fit its race, so an elf sounds like an elf and a valkyrie sounds Norse. Names that match famous characters, gods or legends on our list are skipped, so what you get is free to use in a story, a game or a roleplay.
Found one you love? Hand it to one of our fantasy girls and she'll play the part.

- 4Bring her to lifeSend the name to a fantasy girl and she'll play the character with you.
How the female fantasy names are made
Each race has its own syllables. Elves get soft, flowing endings like -iel, -wyn and -ara. Valkyries get Norse endings like -hild and -veig. Kitsune names use Japanese-style syllables, and demons get hard Z, X and K sounds. The generator joins three parts, smooths the seams, and throws out anything hard to say.
Titles follow one pattern: an epithet, a rank and a place. Moon-Kissed Elven Archer of the Silverwood tells a reader who she is before the story starts.
Succubus, elf, vampire and dragon girl names
A few names the generator made, to show how each race sounds:
- Succubus names: velvet and smoke, like Xaelle or Nathexis.
- Elf and dark elf names: flowing or sharp, like Taenielle or Seslara.
- Vampire names: old-world and elegant, like Casanya or Velneria.
- Demon and angel names: hard edges or light, like Zareva or Sollia.
- Kitsune and siren names: Japanese-style or sea-soft, like Kuzumi or Coralie.
- Witch, valkyrie and dragon girl names: earthy, Norse or fiery, like Odriessa, Ylvida or Kykara.
Tips for naming a fantasy character
A name does a lot of work in a story. These rules of thumb help it land.
- Say it out loud. If you stumble, your readers will too.
- Match the sound to the race: soft vowels feel elven, hard stops feel demonic.
- Keep a main character to two or three syllables.
- Search it before you publish, so she isn't named after a famous game character.
- Use the full title for flavor, and the short name in dialogue.
